Radiance Ceramic Brackets: Clear Braces with Sapphire Brackets

It’s common for patients to dislike the look of traditional metal braces. But advances in orthodontic treatment have made ceramic braces a viable alternative to the metal brackets. The polished surface of ceramic brackets are remarkably strong and practically invisible. As a result, orthodontic patients can enjoy results comparable to traditional brackets without calling attention to their treatment.

At Griffin Orthodontics, we use Radiance Plus™, a trusted brand of clear, ceramic brackets. These clear braces with sapphire brackets can address misalignment issues on both the upper and lower teeth. And treatments can be completed in just 18 months for many patients. Best of all, Radiance ceramic brackets are available for both children and adults.

What Are Clear Braces?

Radiance Plus™ brackets are made from pure monocrystalline sapphire, which is one of the hardest materials in nature. The material is honed and polished to create a remarkably strong and translucent bracket. We choose to use Radiance ceramic brackets because they’re the clearest ceramic brackets on the market. So our patients can smile with confidence throughout their entire treatment.

Benefits of Clear Braces with Sapphire Brackets

If you are concerned about braces affecting your appearance, sapphire braces are an exceptional alternative to traditional metal brackets. The translucent material lets your natural tooth color show through, allowing the brackets to blend with your smile.

Explore Your Candidacy

Clear braces work the same way as traditional braces, meaning they can treat many of the same conditions. However, Radiance ceramic brackets are slightly more delicate than metal brackets. For most patients, the impressive durability of clear braces with sapphire brackets will be more than sufficient. But for more complex issues, metal braces may be the best option.

For clear braces in Franklin, WI, Oak Creek, or the surrounding areas, give us a call to schedule a consultation. Dr. Griffin will analyze our specific needs and provide you with a choice of orthodontic treatments to meet your goals. Clear braces with sapphire brackets tend to be more expensive than metal braces. So we’ll keep your budget and your treatment needs in mind when developing a plan for your smile.

Your Clear Braces Treatment

The treatment plan for clear braces is similar to that of metal braces. Dr. Griffin will begin by bonding the Radiance Plus™ brackets to the front surfaces of your teeth. Next, he’ll place an archwire through the brackets and wrap ligatures around them to hold the wire in place. Patients typically return to our office every four to six weeks for adjustments to keep their treatment on track.

Within 18 months, most of our patients with clear braces complete their treatment. These timelines vary from patient to patient depending on the extent of misalignment. However, we can provide you with a solid estimate of your specific treatment timeline during your initial consultation.

Caring for Your Braces

With transparent brackets, it is especially important that you maintain a good oral health care routine. Discoloration can affect the ligatures and brackets, making them more noticeable. We recommend minimizing or avoiding highly pigmented foods, such as coffee, red wine, and tomato sauce. Smoking can also stain the ligatures.
